Sami Bray grew up watching her sister perform on the stages of their hometown of Memphis, Tennessee; by age five, Sami knew that was where she belonged as well. One of her directors advised her to try out for the How the Grinch Stole Christmas at the Grand Ole Opry. To her surprise, she was cast as Cindy Lou Who. Since that first performance, she has been chasing the dream of becoming a renowned actress and singer and enjoying every step of the journey. In Memphis, she played Flounder in Disney's The Little Mermaid. In Nashville, she performed a second year as Cindy Lou Who and featured in a Belmont short film. In New York, she was honored to sing "America the Beautiful" at the US Open, perform in 1984 on Broadway, film an episode of Law and Order: SVU, take part in the industry read of The Little Dancer, and star as Madeline in Madeline's Christmas on Theatre Row. She also featured in the films Where Demons Dwell and The Last, recently released on Amazon.
Sami then spent a year traveling on the tour of School of Rock as Summer Hathaway. Upon returning to New York, she joined the band The Broadway Kidz Crew, played Christie in the industry read of Joy, was cast in the feature film Son, and was cast as Sarah in the world premiere of The Bedwetter at the Atlantic Theatre. Performances for The Bedwetter will be rescheduled when the pandemic has passed.
Sami has spent her pandemic time taking classes to improve her craft, breaking into the voice acting realm, and featuring in Flora's Spell, Alice's Playground, Alma's Way, Son, Love is On the Air, Luke the Lightning Bolt, Annie, and Jane Eyre.
While not on stage she enjoys blasting the Hamilton soundtrack from her room and belting along, reading historical fiction, watching Star Wars, working crew in community theatre, and riding her bike. She is represented by CESD, EastCoast Talent, Moxie Artists, Stewart Talent, and Lisa Lax.
